Bakkavor appoint to create a new shared services facility at its desserts plant
International food manufacturer Bakkavor has appointed Squaredot to design its new offices and recreational facilities at the UK’s largest Desserts factory in Newark on Trent. The worlds of office staff and factory plant staff are so far removed from each other, that nothing is shared. But the business wanted to reflect the shared values of both worker types and both share in the break facilities. Through our analysis the brief actually identified seven worker profiles, who’s daily journeys were mapped out so that the ideal set of arranged zones offered the best set of spaces in the most pertinent arrangement. The new spaces will offer a variety of inducements to relax together and meet both formally and informally. In this industry, the factory becomes a showcase on what is produced here and sold to the major UK Supermarket chains, so maintaining hygiene levels throughout is of maximum importance.
