Cushman & Wakefield Birmingham

A £1.5m category B fit out creating a high-quality, flexible workplace for circa 160 staff in Birmingham.

Cushman & Wakefield undertook a £1.5m category B fit out of their Birmingham hub on the 5th floor of 1 Colmore Square. The circa 12,000 square foot space was taken at CAT A standard and transformed into a modern office that consolidated the business into a higher-quality workplace suited to post-Covid working.

Challenge

The existing 4th-floor workplace was tired, had not been significantly improved for some years and no longer met the needs of the business. The lease event created an opportunity to move to the 5th floor, use space more efficiently and support circa 160 staff.

Approach

Cushman & Wakefield Workplace Design developed the brief at RIBA stage 1. Squaredot developed it into a full design, bringing together formal and informal collaboration spaces, cellular and semi-open areas, and support spaces for an active, activity-based workplace.

Transformation

The result is a sustainable, modern environment designed to excite staff and accelerate the employee experience: a flexible workplace where work is what you do, not where you do it.
