Pink October: How We're Supporting Breast Cancer Now

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this year we’re getting behind Pink October in support of Breast Cancer Now.

Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s leading breast cancer charity, bringing together research, support and campaigning with the aim of a world without fear of breast cancer. Breast cancer affects around 55,000 women and 400 men in the UK every year, with around one woman diagnosed every 10 minutes.

There is also real reason for hope. Thanks to advances in research, earlier detection and better support, almost 9 in 10 women diagnosed with breast cancer now survive for five years or more. Survival rates have also doubled over the past 50 years. Continued progress depends on ongoing research and funding, which is why fundraising initiatives like Pink October matter.

Throughout October, our team will be getting involved in a few activities to raise money for this important cause, including an office bake sale competition.

It might be a small contribution in the context of the work Breast Cancer Now supports, but every donation makes a difference. Just as importantly, it gives our team the opportunity to come together, have a bit of fun and support something that matters beyond the day to day.
